Udon Map is grateful to take our readers to Vientiane. The capital city, center of the economy and market trade of Laos. Vientiane has beautiful, antique architecture and a traditional Laotian lifestyle that is just waiting for tourists to discover.
To start this journey from Udon Thani, you have several options. First, you can drive to the Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge, park quite close, and take a bus across the bridge into Laos. Second, you can drive into Laos yourself; but this will require you to obtain a visa for your vehicle. You can also take a bus from Udon Thani, the Thai-Laos international Bus, direct to Vientiane. Finally, you can take a train.
Thai passport holders require only their passports, which will allow you a 30 day entry without a visa. Others can obtain a visa on arrival. Best to check the requirements for your country before you leave.
You can comfortably see Vientiane in one day, including visiting some tourist attractions, walking in the market, eating local cuisine and buying some souvenirs.

คนไทยที่มีหนังสือเดินทางสามารถเดินทางไปโดย ไม่ต้องขอวีซ่า สามารถพำนักได้ไม่เกิน 30 วัน หรือหากไม่มีต้องทำหนังสือผ่านแดนชั่วคราว สามารถพำนักอยู่ได้ ครั้งละไม่เกิน 3 วัน 2 คืน

Patuxai means Victory Gate or Gate of Triumph. It is also called The Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane due to its resemblance to the original in Paris. It was built in the center of the city between 1957 and 1968, and is a memorial to those who fought in the war of independence from France in 1949. The design is typically Laotian.
ประตูชัย หรือ ปะตูไซ เป็นสถานที่สำคัญของเวียงจันทน์ สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์สถานให้กับประชาชนที่ต่อสู้และเสียชีวิตในสงครามก่อนการปฏิวัติพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์ สร้างเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.2512 การออกแบบเป็นการผสมผสานทางสถาปัตยกรรมของฝรั่งเศสกับสถาปัตยกรรมท้องถิ่นของลาว ถ้าดูไกล ๆ จะเห็นว่าคล้ายกับประตูชัยที่ปารีส ประเทศฝรั่งเศส

Wat Si Saket, Buddhist temple in Vientian which was built in the Siamese style of Buddhist architecture. It is located northwest of Haw Phra Kaew which formerly held the Emerald Buddha. There are many ceramic and silver Buddha images in the temple which also features a cloister wall.
วัดสีสะเกดเป็นวัดหลวงที่สร้างและออกแบบตามอย่างศิลปะไทยสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น มีภาพเขียนผนัง ที่เลือนหายไปบางส่วนแล้ว ตั้งอยู่ทางด้านเหนือของหอพระแก้ว ซึ่งเคยเป็นที่ประดิษฐานของ พระแก้วมรกต ภายในวัดทั้งส่วนกำแพงและภายในโบสถ์ มีพระพุทธรูปใหญ่เล็กประดิษฐาน อยู่มากมาย และเชื่อว่าเป็นวัดที่มีพระพุทธรูปอยู่มากที่สุด
Wat Si Muang was built when Laos was called the the Kingdom of Lan Xang. A small temple, it was built on the ruins of a Khmer Empire Hindu Shrine. There are two rooms inside the temple, the front room where monks give blessings to the faithful and the rear room, which has numerous statues and images of the Buddha.
