พระอุโบสถกลางน้ำรูปทรงดอกบัว
วัดสันติวนาราม (วัดดงไร่) หรือ พุทธอุทยานบ้านเชียง
There is a lotus shaped chapel in Ban Chiang, Nong Han, northeast of Udon Thani city. The chapel sits in the middle of a lake, Nong Nam Esan Keaw. The chapel is part of the Wat Santi Wanaram complex, just a couple of kilometers from the Ban Chiang historical site and museum. It’s the only lotus shaped structure like it in Thailand.
ตั้งอยู่ที่ หมู่ 11 ต.บ้านเชียง อ.หนองหาน จ.อุดรธานี ที่นี่ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นพระอุโบสถกลางน้ำรูปทรงดอกบัวแห่งเดียวในประเทศไทย พระอุโบสถตั้งอยู่บนหนองน้ำที่ชาวบ้านเรียกว่า หนองน้ำอีสานเขียวในบริเวณป่าดงไร่ ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศเหนือขอบหมู่บ้านมรดกโลกบ้านเชียง
The chapel is 40 meters wide and 19 high; and there are 24 lotus petals. The floor is granite. Inside, there are paintings on the walls illustrating various events in the life of Buddha. There is a Buddha statue for worship as well as a wax statue of the previous abbot of the temple, Phra Khru Pisan Thammapanee, who conceptualized the chapel based on one he saw in India. Construction started in 2001, but the chapel was not completed during his lifetime. The present abbot, Phra Dr. Maha Bang Khemanunto, supervised the completion of the chapel after Phra Khru Pisan Thammapanee’s death.
สำหรับพระอุโบสถกลางน้ำ มีเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 40 เมตร สูง 19 เมตร มีกลีบดอกบัว 24 กลีบ พื้นปูด้วยหินแกรนิตรอบพระอุโบสถ ภายในมีภาพ เขียนพุทธประวัติ พระพุทธรูปสำหรับเคารพบูชา มีรูปปั้นเหมือนอดีตเจ้าอาวาส พระครูพิศาลธรรมภาณี ผู้ที่นำรูปแบบการก่อสร้างมาจาก ประเทศอินเดีย ท่านได้เริ่มสร้างในปี พ.ศ. 2544 แต่ก็ยังไม่แล้วเสร็จท่านก็ได้มรณภาพไปก่อนเจ้า- อาวาสรูปปัจจุบัน พระ ดร.พระมหาบาง เขมานนฺโท จึงได้สืบสานในการก่อสร้างจนแล้วเสร็จ
In addition to the beautiful architecture, this temple is also a meditation center for Buddhist monks and novices, as well as for people who just want to practice meditation and train their minds. Many local schools take their students to Dharma camps here to meditate, learn how to get along together, learn Buddhist discipline, and learn about the Dharma. They also learn how to apply the principles they learn here to their daily lives and be good, productive and positive members of society.
ที่วัดแห่งนี้ นอกจากจะมีความสวยงามในด้าน สถาปัตยกรรมแล้ว ยังเป็นศูนย์ปฏิบัติธรรม วิปัสสนากรรมฐานสำหรับ พระภิกษุ สามเณร อุบาสก อุบาสิกา ดังนั้นที่นี่จึงเป็นจุดหมาย สำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการมาปฏิบัติธรรมและฝึก อบรมจิตใจ หลาย ๆ โรงเรียนจึงเลือกที่นี่ใน การพานักเรียนมาเข้าค่ายธรรมะ ฝึกนั่งสมาธิ เรียนรู้วิธีการอยู่ร่วมกัน มีวินัย เรียนรู้เรื่อง ของธรรมะ และการนำไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน มีสติ ปัญญา ใช้ชีวิตด้วยความไม่ประมาท และเป็นคนดีของสังคม
